Organisation: Soccer Stars Academy Current locations: • Almondvale Crescent, Livingston, EH54 7EP • 1 O’Donnell Way, Motherwell, ML1 2TZ We are also interested in hearing from coaches based across Lanarkshire, Edinburgh and East Lothian as we look to open additional Soccer Stars Academy classes in these areas. Salary: £15 per hour Hours: Part-time, with hours depending on the venue timetable and programme requirements. Contract type: Part-time, paid position Closing date: 23:59 one month from the date the vacancy is published. About Soccer Stars Academy Soccer Stars Academy provides fun, engaging and developmental football and activity sessions for children from four months to nine years old. Our programmes help children develop their confidence, coordination, communication, social skills and football ability through play-based and age-appropriate coaching. We are currently looking for enthusiastic, energetic and caring individuals to join our coaching team in Livingston and Motherwell. We are also building our coaching team for potential future opportunities across Lanarkshire, Edinburgh and East Lothian. Coaches based in these areas are encouraged to register their interest. Applicants should state which location or geographical area they are interested in. About the role The role involves delivering or supporting sessions across different stages of the Soccer Stars Academy pathway. These include: • Tiny and Twinkle Stars parent-and-child sessions, using play, storytelling, imagination and movement to support early development • Bright Stars sessions for children aged three to four, introducing basic football skills through fun and themed activities • Shooting and Super Stars sessions for children aged five to nine, developing football technique, teamwork and game understanding Successful candidates may begin by supporting or delivering younger age groups, with opportunities to develop and coach across the wider Soccer Stars Academy programme. Main responsibilities The coach will: • Deliver fun, engaging and structured football and activity sessions • Adapt sessions and communication to suit different ages and stages of development • Use energy, creativity, storytelling and imagination within early-years classes • Build positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues • Create a safe, inclusive and supportive environment • Encourage children to participate, build confidence and enjoy being active • Set up, tidy away and look after coaching equipment • Complete basic administration, including attendance registers • Represent Soccer Stars Academy professionally What we are looking for We are particularly interested in people who are: • Energetic, enthusiastic and confident when leading groups • Friendly, patient and able to engage positively with young children • Comfortable communicating with parents and carers • Creative, expressive and willing to make sessions playful and enjoyable • Reliable, organised and professional • Able to adapt between play-based early-years activities and structured football coaching • Passionate about sport, physical activity and child development Experience or qualifications in any of the following areas would be beneficial: • Sports or football coaching • Early-years education • Nursery or childcare work • Teaching or classroom support • Children’s physical activity programmes Previous sports coaching experience is preferred, but applications are also welcomed from suitable candidates with relevant early-years, childcare or education experience. A driving licence is required due to the nature and potential locations of the work.
