Wise Owls Clubs Deputy Manager – Maidenhead Are you an experienced childcare professional ready to take the next step in your leadership journey? Wise Owls Childcare is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Deputy Manager to help lead our Breakfast and After School Club. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys working with school-aged children, supporting a team, and creating a safe, engaging and enjoyable environment where children can thrive. As Deputy Manager, you’ll work alongside the Club Manager to ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the club, support staff development, maintain high standards of care and safeguarding, and help deliver a programme of activities that children genuinely enjoy. About the Role You will play a key role in: • Supporting the day-to-day running of the Breakfast and After School Club. • Assisting with the leadership, supervision and support of club staff. • Ensuring children are safe, happy, engaged and well cared for. • Planning and delivering stimulating activities, games and experiences. • Building positive relationships with children, families, schools and colleagues. • Maintaining accurate records and supporting club administration. • Ensuring compliance with safeguarding, health and safety, and regulatory requirements. • Acting as a role model for the team and stepping up in the Manager’s absence when required. • Creating an environment where every child feels welcome, included and valued. Flexible Hours We offer a range of flexible options, for example: • Option 1: Term Time Only • 18.75 hours per week • Monday to Friday • 2:45pm – 6:30pm Perfect for those looking for leadership responsibility while maintaining school holiday flexibility. Option 2: Year-Round • Term Time: 18.75 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 2:45pm – 6:30pm • School Holidays: 8-8.5 hour shifts between 8:15am and 5:45pm Ideal for candidates seeking additional hours and a consistent annual income. Essential Requirements • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Childcare. • Strong knowledge of child development, safeguarding and the EYFS. • Excellent organisational and communication skills. • Previous leadership or supervisory experience within a childcare setting. • A positive, proactive approach and a genuine passion for supporting children and colleagues.
