Job Description The role of the Chief Operating Officer (COO) for Saint Luke’s Central Region, Saint Luke’s Hospital assumes responsibility and authority for the administrative direction, evaluation, and coordination of the functions and activities of assigned departments within the hospital organization. This role will ensure that operational objectives and results are achieved in accordance with overall hospital needs. The COO functions at an executive level in an active leadership role with the hospital’s governing body, medical staff leadership, hospital senior leadership and management team. The COO will partner with key stakeholders to develop and implement the organization’s strategic goals and objectives while building strategic alliances and partnerships within the organization to collaboratively execute business strategies. The COO will perform other duties as assigned. • Directly responsible for assigned departments and service lines toward achieving high levels of performance, enhanced productivity, service quality and ongoing quality improvement, cost control and efficient utilization of facilities. • Partner with the CFO for the improvement of the hospital’s facilities in assigned areas, including construction, renovation of structures and the purchasing of new equipment. • Foster an environment in which products, processes and services support excellent patient and customer satisfaction and a work environment where employees feel supported, valued, and deep sense of commitment to being the best place to give care and the best place to get care.
