Description
Key Responsibilities :
• Ensures that the facilities are adequately equipped and members of staff are properly trained and instructed in their areas of responsibilities.
• Submits requisition orders to the Director of Operations (DOO) for supplies and equipment, which are deemed necessary for the effective and efficient operation of the airport Fire and Rescue Services.
• Performs inspections of all areas of the RFFS Unit.
• Responds to all airport-related emergencies.
• Visits buildings and aircraft within the aerodrome area for familiarization, and give advice on Fire prevention and suppression systems.
• Supervises water aerodrome, rescue and fire fighting services
• Coordinates training for recruit Fire Fighters.
• Evaluates performance of Firefighters and makes necessary recommendations for performance improvement, training, promotion etc.
• Coordinates and facilitates education awareness programmes in fire prevention with various agencies including schools, business organizations etc.
• Visits and investigates the scene of all fires to collect evidence and determine the cause of the fire; reports finding to the Director of Operations.
• Updates records and maintains a filing system for the station; researches and compiles data for report preparation.
• Make recommendations to the DOO on possible ways and means of improving the fire service; and also replacement of equipment and appliances.
• Performs routine airport fire fighting duties at BVIAA.
• Prepares monthly report regarding RFFS activities and submits to the Director of Operations.
• Prepares budget reports on an annual basis and submits to the Director of Finance.
• Prepares RFFS operations annual report and submits to the Director of Administration.
• Performs all other duties as assigned by Senior Management.
Qualifications:
• Master’s Degree in Business Administration or related field
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a management role
