Description
The Finance Department of one of the fastest-growing accounting firms in the country, is seeking a Chief Financial Officer who is motivated to learn, excited to collaborate and passionate about delivering outstanding results. This individual will have a direct impact on our firm’s mission of serving as a catalyst for those striving to achieve their highest potential.
This position will provide strategic financial input to the partner group. The CFO will play a key role in developing and implementing financial procedures to analyze and improve the financial health of the firm. This role is responsible for managing the financial activities of the Firm including providing monthly financials, regular projections, annual budget and other financial supporting schedules related to the financial operations of the firm. This individual will also be responsible for overseeing the operations of the Finance team including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable/collections, cash management, time & billing and payroll.
As a member of our executive leadership team, they will be comfortable in a leadership role that demands clear communication, presentation skills and a desire to be intellectually challenged.
What You’ll Do:
Develop relationships and support firm leaders (Managing Partner, Chief Operating Officer, Board, Service Line Leaders and Operational Leaders) to evaluate new opportunities, challenge current strategies, maximize revenues and appropriately manage costs with understanding towards leader objectives
Interpret and analyze financial statements, prepare discussion and analysis, provide strategic forward-looking feedback to Management via Financial Statement Discussion and Analysis
Maintain and update accounting policies, internal controls and procedures for the Firm
Oversee the preparation/delivery of the underlying schedules needed for the compilation of the Firm’s tax returns
Manage the Firm’s Fixed Asset accounting including depreciation schedules
Oversee the Firm’s month end closing process for both G/L and Time & Billing
Preparation and review of monthly financial statements for Anders and affiliates
Oversee the Treasury/Banking function of the Firm and relevant affiliates including oversight/review of cash management reporting and monitoring
Oversees payroll process in all respects including Partner compensation tracking/reporting
Oversees and/or prepares financial and/or cash flow projections, and annual budget process
Performs regular variance analysis against budgets and forecasts to explain variances
Oversee the preparation and delivery of Advisory service line reports including the revisions and updates of these reports/metrics to be more useful and efficient.
A/R, WIP and Billing management oversight including interfacing w/ Partners in these areas
Works closely with other individuals and groups on projects, problems or issues involving accounting systems and financial planning
Manage and direct the accounting/finance (including billing and collections) department staff, including establishment of goals and evaluating performance
Advise on long-term business and financial planning with the potential for merger/acquisition activity
Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with applicable laws and firm policies
Identify and address financial risks and opportunities and focus on risk management mitigation
Participate in the Executive Leadership Team meetings and assist in overall firm management
