Description
Essential Functions & Responsibilities• Prepare daily surgical schedule and prep surgical suite as needed• Administer anesthesia, assist with surgical preparation, monitor animals underanesthesia, and provide post-operative care• Accurately calculate drug dosages and properly handle, administer, and trackcontrolled substances in compliance with regulations• Verify medication slips for accuracy and completeness prior to preparation andadministration• Accurately enter medical data and treatment records into PetPoint database• Perform dental prophylaxis procedures as directed• Draw blood for various diagnostic tests; perform and analyze fecal floats,cytologies, and urinalyses• Clean, maintain, and sterilize medical equipment, surgical suite, and animal careareas as needed• Complete all required documentation and medical records promptly andaccurately• Administer medications as prescribed by veterinarians• Monitor and document the daily health status of animals under care, reportingany concerns promptly• Perform outgoing health checks prior to adoption• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for all animals in care• Assist care staff with cleaning kennels as needed• Assist care staff with providing bathroom breaks for dogs as needed• Perform additional duties as assignedQualifications• Veterinary Technician Certification required• Excellent communication skills, team oriented, enjoy a fast-paced environment• Committed to treating animals with kindness and respectSalary & Benefits• Starting pay of $24/hour• Financial assistance for professional development and license renewal• Health and supplemental insurances available• 1% match of a 4013(b)• Paid time off (PTO) + paid holidays• Employer provided uniforms• Employee discounts on goods & servicesSchedule• 35-40 hours/week• Some Saturdays and evenings may be required
