Description
HML is looking for a Utility Tree Trimmer (UTT) or Certified Utility Arborist (CUA). Job duties: • Arborist and tree care work scopes in and around Edmonton  and surrounding areas, • 50-75% travel away from home required, • Assess trees and shrubs and apply treatments as needed, • Plan and construct landscaped environments including trees, shrubs, lawns and other landscape structures, • Plant and move trees, • Examine trees and shrubs to diagnose problems / disease, • Use of chainsaws and other powered hand tools, • Pruning and shaping trees, • Chipping branches, • Grinding tree stumps, • Assisting with tree felling, • Assisting with ropes and rigging, • Aerial lift operation, • Operating chainsaws and other tree felling equipment, • Delimbing and bucking trees, • Climbing trees, • Survey and assess designated sites, • Examine trees and shrubs to diagnose problems and disease, • Apply various treatments such as pruning, spraying, repairing damaged areas and injecting with treatment solutions, • Apply fertilizers, fungicides, herbicides, pesticides, and other lawn care products, • Operation of leaf blower and debris removal equipment, • Follow all OH&S, municipal and traffic legislation and, • Operate according to the company’s safety standards, • Landscaping Projects, • Dependable Team player, • Physically fit and able to lift moderate weight (30 – 50 lbs), • Snow removal in the winter, • Landscape equipment and tools regular maintenance. Skills / Requirements: • UTT or CUA accreditation • 3+ years of experience as an Arborist. • CSTS training (required). • Leadership for Safety Excellence training (is an asset); Valid Driver’s (air brakes) license with clean driver’s abstract. • Able to successfully complete a drug & alcohol pre-screening and criminal record check. • Ability to work long hours (10 – 12 hours per day). • Must be able to work in varied and extreme (hot) weather conditions; Physically and capable of lifting +50lbs. • Strong work ethic; Safety conscious. • Must be able to legally work in Canada.
