Seasonal JOB TITLE:   Certified   Ski &   Ride   Instructor   Level IV DIVISION:   Ski and Ride School REPORTS TO:   Ski and Ride Supervisor LOCATION:   Ski & Ride School building /   On-mountain CLASSIFICATION:    Full-Time / Part-Time / Peak Part Time   / Seasonal PAY RANGE:   Starting at $3 3.99   per hour POSITION: Solitude is   seeking   passionate   and confident   experienced   ski   &   ride instructors for our   upcoming   winter   sea s on . This position involves   teaching individuals and groups   new skills and techniques to help improve their skiing ability.   Certified I nstructors provide participating guests   with a lpine skiing or   s nowboarding lessons emphasizing safety, fun, and learning.   In addition to   an   hourly   base rate , this role is eligible for incentives   that   can   substantially increase   take home pay .   Instructors who   hold   certification s   through PSIA/AASI   (or equivalent international body)   earn greater   hourly rate s   and   increased   work opportunities.   We offer exam reimbursement for instructors who achieve higher certification within the season. REQUIREMENTS FOR LEVEL IV INSTRUCTOR:   Starting at $3 3.99   per hour • Current PSIA/AASI Trainers Accreditation, Education Staff Member or equivalent • Strong understanding of the educational concepts   relative   to teaching first   timers   through advanced/expert students. • Capable of dynamic, high-level performance on double black diamond and extreme terrain, as well as   basic   freestyle   in   and outside   of   terrain   park settings JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Expected to mentor and train other staff members, actively drive business, and grow and   retain   a base of returning clients. • Lead and coordinate quality and engaging training on technical skills, teaching skills, and   people   skills in alignment with the PSIA-AASI national standards . • Own and   maintain   contemporary skiing or snowboarding equipment   including a helmet . • Attend all required training   including orientations , on   snow instructor training, and online modules assigned through workday . • Be aware of scheduled shifts and   maintain   good attendance for all work assignments . • Communicate proactively with direct supervisors, administrators, and leadership team . • Be   aware of and follow all   resort and department   policies / procedures . • Provide participating guests with lesson experience s   that consistently   exceed   expectations . • Identify   and   facilitate   guests'   needs through observation and communication. • Work with counterparts on   team   to address guest experience issues. • Seek out and   participate   in educational   opportunities   that   enhance   your product . • Be a positive and professional ambassador of Solitude   and   Ski & Ride School . • Maintain a professional appearance and posture at all times . • Maintain   accurate   class lists daily. • Maintain   accurate   training clinic attendance • Maintain   accurate   timekeeping for work assignments. • Complete other department tasks as assigned . • Exceptional communication skills   & organizational   abilities. • Strong leadership presence and impact.
