Drawing on your lived experience, you will provide person-centred, recovery-oriented peer support to individuals, as well as their families, carers, and supporters. You’ll play a vital role in fostering hope, connection, and empowerment, particularly for those experiencing distress or crisis. Across these services, you will: Build meaningful, respectful relationships using your lived experience Support individuals in their recovery journey through strengths-based, trauma-informed practice Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams, including clinicians and other peer workers Assist with administrative tasks, including client records and data entry Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference in people’s lives while working within a supportive and values-driven organisation. Experience Requirements: We’re looking for Peer Practitioners who bring both lived experience and practical skills, including: Lived experience of mental health challenges (and/or AOD), with demonstrated recovery and ability to use this safely to support others Experience working in a fast-paced or client-facing environment Previous experience in a peer work, mental health, community services or similar role (desirable) Experience working within a multidisciplinary team or alongside clinicians (desirable) Experience with administrative tasks, including data entry and using client management systems Strong ability to build rapport and communicate with a diverse range of people Ability to manage competing priorities and remain calm under pressure Experience supporting people in distress, including de-escalation (desirable) Qualification and Other Requirements: Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work or currently completing or a willingness to complete Current or willing to obtain a Working with Children's Check (WWCC) Current or willing to obtain a National Police Check (NPC) Knowledge and experience in using the Microsoft suite of software and databases.
