The Carrier Supervisor / Manager at McLane Global is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing relationships with transportation carriers (truckload, LTL, intermodal, temperature control, etc.) ensuring competitive pricing, reliable capacity, and high service performance. Key Responsibilities Performance Management ● Set goals and monitor KPIs for carrier network growth, lane coverage, margin, and on-time performance ● Conduct quarterly business reviews (QBRs) with each carrier to evaluate performance and service trends ● Resolve escalated carrier or service issues Carrier Sourcing & Contracting ● Source, qualify, and onboard new asset-based carriers to reduce reliance on the brokered network ● Execute broker/carrier agreements and manage onboarding documentation (insurance, authority, W-9, safety packet) ● Negotiate and establish base rates, fuel surcharges, and accessorial schedules by lane ● Build long-term, direct carrier partnerships to improve service and cost control Operational Oversight ● Ensure onboarded carriers are load-ready across required systems (TMS, rate tables, compliance tracking) ● Monitor ongoing carrier compliance (insurance, safety ratings, authority, CSA scores) ● Collaborate with sales and operations to align lane rates with customer commitments ● Track freight market trends and adjust rate strategy to protect margin
