Description
The Avenue Church Care Team is a team of childcare staff who work closely with our church. We provide childcare to our weekday and weeknight programs, along with filling in spots during our Sunday services. We have a rewarding, fun, and engaging atmosphere! We build relationships with our kids and families while providing an environment where our children can learn about Jesus!
The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children, be able to provide a safe and nurturing environment, and have the ability to implement a pre-planned curriculum. The successful candidate will provide care for children of various ages, ensure their safety and well-being at all times, and help them develop socially, emotionally, spiritually, and intellectually.
Responsibilities:
• Create a safe and nurturing environment for children.
• Implement the provided age-appropriate biblical curriculum.
• Maintain records of behaviors and progress.
• Supervise and monitor the safety of children in their care.
• Provide guidance to children on social interactions and other skills.
• Assist with room clean-up at the end of each shift.
• Communicate with parents about their child's behavior.
• Change diapers in age-appropriate rooms.
• Engage with children during worship and activities.
• Be comfortable with assisting children who are potty training.
Requirements:
• At least 1 year of professional childcare experience is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Flexibility and willingness to work with multiple age groups.
• Be able to lift children to 50 lbs.
• Availability and flexibility to work all the provided shifts - Wednesday Mornings, Wednesday Evenings, Thursday Evenings, Sunday Mornings, and some required holidays and events.
Expected hours:
• No less than 5 per week
