LW Mission Reach People, Touch Lives, and Make a Difference Position Summary Responsible for the leadership and growth of the Care and Counseling Department. Provides pastoral care through counseling, prayer, crisis support, and resource coordination in person, virtually, by phone, and through email. Serves as a visible pastoral presence during services and events, ministering to congregants and visitors. Supports weddings and funerals with compassion and excellence. Primary Responsibilities Department Leadership • Provide leadership, management, and communication for the Care and Counseling department. • Attend required meetings. • Oversee department communications, including the Care and Counseling email. • Recruit, train, and support volunteers and ministry leaders. • Provide regular department updates and complete other duties as assigned. Congregational Care and Ministry • Respond to requests for care, prayer, counseling, and support. • Conduct pastoral care appointments and biblical counseling sessions. • Maintain a visible presence during services and events, engaging with congregants and guests. • Be available to pray, encourage, and minister to individuals as needs arise. • Connect individuals and families with appropriate church ministries, support groups, and community resources. • Coordinate follow-up care and complete or delegate visitations as needed. Weddings and Funerals • Partner with coordinators to oversee wedding and funeral preparations. • Officiate services or coordinate with an officiating pastor. • Provide pastoral care and support to individuals and families throughout the planning process. • Ensure all details are prepared for successful execution. Support Groups and Care Ministries • Support administrators and ministry leaders. • Maintain regular communication with group leaders. • Provide participant care, follow-up, and resource coordination. • Assist with departmental communications and updates. Qualifications • Uphold confidentiality and understand mandated reporting requirements. • Possess strong leadership, organizational, and administrative skills. • Demonstrate knowledge of biblical counseling and pastoral care. • Effectively lead and communicate in individual, small-group, and large-group settings. • Display compassion, discernment, and a heart for serving people. • Ability to assess needs and connect individuals with appropriate resources. • Align with Living Word's Statement of Faith and Code of Christian Conduct. Schedule Regular Hours: Monday–Thursday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Sundays 8:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. Additional Availability: • Regular participation in weekend services and church events. • Occasional evening and weekend responsibilities, including weddings, funerals, care appointments, and special events.
