Description
Position Summary/Purpose: The purpose of this role is to serve as an ambassador (organizationally & relationally) to prospective students who attend the overnight, expenses-paid-for, Discover GCU trip. This includes weekly event operations, presenting trained information, sharing of personal and positive GCU experiences, and providing a positive and safe environment for guests.
Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities/Essential Functions:
• Support and promote GCU’s Doctrinal Statement.
• Execute weekly event operations, procedures, policies, and protocols with absolute excellence.
• Present on trained information to groups of guests.
• Provide positive and safe experience for guests.
• Ensure inventory is adequate per each event.
• Ensure rooms are adequately cleaned and prepared for events.
• Additional Tasks as assigned.
Equipment Used and Responsibility:
• Microsoft 365 Suite
• Point of Sales (POS) systems
• SkyTouch
• Group Me
Qualifications:
• Must be available to work a minimum of 15 hours per week and have open availability to consistently work weekends
• Experience with youth, preferably in a camp environment.
• Flexibility and enthusiasm is a must.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Outgoing and comfortable with public speaking in front of various groups.
• Campus living and extracurricular activities within GCU strongly preferred to be able to provide first-hand experience to visitors.
Experience/Education:
Grand Canyon University is committed to a student first policy. Therefore, all applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered for student employment:
• Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor’s program.
• Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student.
• Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.
You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum requirements.
Pay Rate: Minimum Wage
