The Campaigns Intern will support the Netherlands Youth Ambassador and Campaigns projects, helping to deliver an impactful and diverse Youth Ambassador program and creative campaigns in the Netherlands. ONE Youth Ambassadors are a dedicated team of volunteers who electrify our campaigns across Europe. They engage with decision makers, publish opinion pieces in national news outlets, and encourage the public to sign ONE petitions through online activity and local events. The full-time internship will be either 6 or 12 months in duration, starting mid-September 2026 (depending on the availability of the intern). This internship is based in our Brussels office , which means the intern needs to be based in Brussels/Belgium. Following the COVID-19 situation, we have become more flexible, and colleagues are able to work remotely (from home). We do aim to work at our office on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We might foresee some (international) travel in this 6- or 12-month internship. In this role, you will work with campaigners across Europe, as well as our 30 Youth Ambassadors in the Netherlands. The ideal candidate would have some knowledge of campaigning, media, development, and our core policy issues, which include development cooperation and global health. The Campaigns Intern will report to and work daily with the Senior Campaigns Coordinator, the Netherlands. IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL Support the team to deliver successful campaigns and an active and engaged Youth Ambassador programme; Assist with campaigns, policy, advocacy, and action planning; Identify opportunities and support the logistical and creative planning of events and communications; Attend meetings with decision-makers/members of Parliament, the public or other organisations about ONE; Provide translations and support content creation for our social media channels; Support with putting our message forward in Dutch media; Provide general administrative and database support as required; Perform other duties as assigned. WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU Passion for creating change is most important, ideally some campaigning experience; Attention to detail, with excellent office skills; Ability to work independently (essential) and to be pro-active; Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, keeping calm under pressure and solution focused; Bring creativity and have bold campaign ideas; Ability to work together effectively with people from various cultural backgrounds; Proven interest in international development and Africa; Good communication skills and excellent command of both Dutch and English (written and spoken); Ability to consistently apply good judgment and make good and responsible decisions; Ability to always maintain the highest degree of confidentiality regarding all aspects of work.
