Description
Role Overview CAD drafters apply their hands-on experience with CAD software to create, evaluate, and annotate technical drawings and to help train and assess AI systems that interpret real-world CAD tasks. This role is remote, asynchronous, and project-based, with opportunities opening periodically throughout the year.
Key Responsibilities
• Use domain CAD expertise to develop and refine task examples that teach AI how to perform or evaluate CAD-related work.
• Create and review CAD drawings, models, and annotations to produce high-quality training data.
• Develop domain-specific prompts and test prompts against large language models, then evaluate and rate LLM responses for accuracy and usefulness.
• Work independently with AI research teams in an asynchronous workflow, providing clear feedback and documentation on assigned tasks.
Qualifications
• Minimum 1+ years of full-time professional experience using one or more of the following tools: AutoCAD Mechanical, Autodesk Inventor Professional, Rhino 3D, LibreCAD, SolveSpace, or similar technical CAD software.
• Familiarity with drafting conventions, technical drawing standards, or mechanical modeling workflows.
• Able to work asynchronously and communicate effectively with distributed research teams.
Work Terms
• Employment type: Part time.
• Location: Remote, work independently from any location.
• Schedule: Flexible hours, asynchronous collaboration, no minimum weekly hour commitment.
• Project placement depends on project availability; the program runs year-round and new project opportunities open periodically across different areas of expertise.
Compensation Up to $125/hr (depending on the project)
Eligibility
• F-1 students who qualify for CPT or OPT may be eligible to participate, subject to approval by your Designated School Official. If your school requires enrollment in a CPT course, this program may not meet those requirements.
• STEM OPT is not supported.
