We secure high-quality refurbished inventory across 17 markets and constantly source high-potential sellers to keep our network competitive and aligned with our business needs. We are a fast-growing, high-performing team dedicated to hunting, onboarding and nurturing the right sellers, unlocking the right products that our customers want, and driving meaningful impact at scale. JOB DESCRIPTION We are looking for a results-driven Business Development Manager to join our team to execute business development strategies. You will represent our brand, values, and marketplace proposition to the industry, building relationships with European (and potentially U.S.-based) sellers that power our supply ecosystem. As a Business Development Manager, you will own the full BD lifecycle, from identifying and hunting high-potential sellers to guiding them through onboarding and early-stage growth, including working with sellers to maximize product selection, educating them on the relevance of specific quality metrics to sales performance & operation excellence. You will serve as a trusted ambassador for sellers during their journey on Back Market, before transitioning them to our Seller Success team for long-term partnership. Beyond individual seller relationships, you will play a strategic role in shaping how we scale, leading BD enablement projects that translate market intelligence into action and unlock the potential of our growing seller network. YOUR MISSION (IF YOU ACCEPT IT): 🥇 - Hunt and Build the Pipeline. Continuously identify and engage high-potential sellers across competitor platforms, industry tradeshows, and other relevant channels to enrich our seller network and strengthen Back Market's supply base. - Pitch and Convert. Lead compelling presentations, calls and onsite visits tailored to each prospect's profile and use case, with a focus on seller onboarding and early ramp-up - Onboarding. Qualify and onboard new sellers, ensuring a smooth journey that contributes to Back Market's product selection growth - Drive Early Performance. Manage newly activated sellers, owning their GMV and quality performance to ensure healthy, profitable growth for both the seller and Back Market, prior to handover to the Seller Success team - Be the bridge. Act as the trusted link between sellers and internal functional teams (Quality, Logistics, Finance, Legal, and more) to support sellers and navigate complexities seamlessly - Build industry expertise. Cultivate relationships with key industry contacts and maintain deep subject-matter knowledge of the refurbished landscape, players, and market dynamics - Insight to Impact. Drive BD enablement projects that analyse market intelligence, surface opportunities & risks, and convert insights into actionable strategies YOU’RE AT THE RIGHT PLACE IF: ⭐ - 3+ years of experience in sales, business development, or account management — or equivalent demonstrated experience. Previous use of Salesforce or CRM tools is a big plus. - Fully professional proficiency in English is Mandatory. Multilingual fluency in any of the following languages is a significant advantage: German, Mandarin
