Description
The Business Development person will play a key role in driving growth for TEI’s Data Center Cooling Solutions. This role focuses on identifying new business opportunities, developing strong customer and partner relationships, supporting proposal development, and contributing to strategic planning for market expansion outside Primarily, India, Gulf Council Countries and Southeast Asia as guided by the Management. The incumbent will work closely with the Engineering, Sales, and Global Teams - especially the Chennai Engineering Team - to understand customer requirements and position TEI’s cooling solutions effectively. A strong understanding of cooling systems (HVAC, chiller plant, liquid cooling, cooling distribution units heat exchangers, etc.) used in Data Center applications, as well as familiarity with industry standards such as ASHRAE and Tier Certifications, is desirable. Flexibility and willingness to travel domestically and internationally are essential. Essential Responsibilities: Lead the Data Center business development activities to meet or exceed the target bookings plan Identify, develop, and manage new business opportunities in the Data Center Cooling Solutions market. Support the creation and execution of business development strategies to expand TEI’s market presence Primarily, India, Gulf Council Countries and Southeast Asia as guided by the Management. Build and maintain strong relationships with Customers, Consultants, EPCs, OEMs, and strategic partners. Meet or exceed all requirements for weekly, monthly, and quarterly appointment / client visitation activity as per call plans. Meet or exceed the organizational goal of achieving a target gross margin by identifying pricing strategies and assisting with sales/contract negotiations. Work closely with the sales and engineering teams to prepare technical proposals, commercial offers, and presentations. Coordinate with internal teams (mechanical, civil, electrical, instrumentation, and controls) to support proposal development and execution. Gather market intelligence on industry trends, competitor offerings, and customer needs to support strategic decision-making. Participate in client meetings, presentations, and discussions to communicate TEI’s technical capabilities and solution offerings. Ensure compliance with customer specifications, industry standards, and internal procedures during bid and proposal phases. Assist in developing marketing materials, case studies, and internal documentation to enhance TEI’s positioning. Support continuous improvement initiatives by sharing customer feedback, market insights, and suggestions for product and process enhancements.
