This role focuses on improving financial systems, data, reporting, and analytics to support accurate, scalable, and timely financial insight in a high-volume IT reseller environment. The Business Analyst, Finance, works closely with Finance leadership and Enterprise Architecture to identify opportunities, define solutions, and lead system and reporting improvements. This role requires a balance of deep finance process knowledge, strong systems and data analysis skills, and the ability to operate independently while driving cross-functional initiatives. Successful candidates will be strategic thinkers with hands-on execution capability, comfortable working across Finance, IT, and data teams to improve financial processes, reporting accuracy, and system scalability. Essential Duties & Responsibilities The Business Analyst, Finance, will work closely with Finance leadership and cross-functional partners to support the following areas of responsibility: FINANCE PARTNERSHIP & STRATEGIC SUPPORT Serve as the primary Business Analyst supporting the Finance organization. Partner closely with the Finance leadership to align systems and reporting initiatives with business priorities. Proactively identify opportunities to improve finance processes, reporting, and data utilization. Provide guidance on best practices related to finance systems, analytics, and reporting. BUSINESS ANALYSIS & SOLUTION DELIVERY Lead discovery sessions with finance stakeholders to document current-state processes, pain points, and requirements. Define future-state workflows, functional specifications, and data requirements. Translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements for technical teams, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture standards. Own end-to-end delivery of finance-related system and reporting enhancements, from requirements through implementation and user adoption. FINANCIAL SYSTEMS & REPORTING ENABLEMENT Support and drive enhancements to Oracle Fusion GL and related financial systems. Improve the quality, consistency, and usability of financial reporting and analytics. Partner with Business Intelligence and data teams to design dashboards, KPIs, and executive-level reporting. Support testing, validation, and release management for finance system changes. DATA GOVERNANCE & ANALYTICS Work with finance stakeholders to define standardized financial metrics, KPIs, and data definitions. Ensure financial data integrity and consistency across integrated systems. Contribute to data governance efforts related to financial data domains. Document business rules, data lineage, and reporting logic to improve transparency and trust in financial reporting. CROSS-FUNCTIONAL LEADERSHIP & ENABLEMENT Serve as a finance systems subject-matter expert across IT and enterprise architecture teams. Mentor project team members as needed.
