As a Boating Specialist, you will play a key role in creating unforgettable experiences for campers throughout the summer. Working in a beautiful waterfront setting, you will collaborate with fellow boating staff to teach campers esential boating skills and knoweldge. by mainting a safe and supportive enrivonment, you will help instill a love for water-based activities, all while ensuring a positive, enriching camp experience for every camper. Primary responsibilities include, and are not limited to: Supervise and organize the Boating area to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for all campers Plan and implement age-appropriate lessons and activities to help campers develop their boating skills Ensure the safety of all campers and staff by enforcing water safety guidelines and providing proper equipment and supervision, ensuring safety and confidence on the water Assist with the maintenance and upkeep of boating equipment and facilities, ensuring they are in excellent condition Collaborate with other camp staff to incorporate boating activities into the broader camp program Foster a positive and inclusive environment, promoting teamwork, respect, and personal growth among campers and staff Join all staff in the parking lot in the morning and afternoon to welcome the safe arrival and departure of campers Role will also include planning and leading an activity, or help with a cookout, one or two evenings (after regular camp hours) throughout the course of the summer Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervise campers and counselors during their boating activity sessions, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all Oversee the setup, operation, and ongoing safety of the Boating area, maintaining a secure environment at all times Ensure the area is organized and properly stocked with the necessary equipment for all activities Foster and maintain positive working relationships with boating, waterfront, and camp staff to ensure smooth collaboration and communication.
