We partner with leading component brands and road, gravel, and mountain bike manufacturers to deliver precision-built, performance-ready bicycles to riders and retail partners across the country. With over 40 brand partners on board, Frame First is redefining what it means to build a bike at scale — without sacrificing quality.
Role Overview
As a Bicycle Assembler at Frame First, you will be at the core of our operation — building premium road, gravel, and mountain bikes to exacting standards. You'll work alongside a skilled team in our Temecula facility, executing builds across a wide range of brands and component configurations. Whether you come in with years of shop experience or you're ready to develop your skills through our certification program, you'll find a home here.
What You'll Do
• Perform full bicycle assembly from frameset to finished build across road, gravel, and MTB platforms
• Execute precise component installation including drivetrains, brakes, suspension, cockpit, and wheels
• Follow brand-specific build specifications and torque standards for premium component groups
• Conduct quality checks at each build stage and perform final pre-delivery inspection
• Perform cable and housing routing including internal routing on modern frame designs
• Execute electronic groupset setup and configuration (Shimano Di2, SRAM AXS, Campagnolo EPS)
• Maintain a clean, organized workstation and adhere to shop safety protocols
• Document build completion and flag any component issues or warranty concerns
• Collaborate with the operations team to meet daily and weekly build targets
• Support ongoing maintenance and service requests as needed
Preferred qualifications:
• 2+ years of experience in premium bicycle assembly (LBS, direct-to-consumer, or OEM environment)
• Hands-on experience with high-end road, gravel, and/or mountain bike builds
• Familiarity with modern groupsets, suspension systems, and wheel builds
• Proficiency with professional workshop tools and torque equipment
• Familiarity with electronic shifting systems (Di2, AXS, or EPS)
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship
We'll also consider candidates who:
• Have a passion for cycling and a mechanical aptitude, even without formal shop experience
