Job Title: Basel Credit Risk RWA Consultant – PMO Lead (Contract) Location: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia (full-time on-site) Start Date: ASAP / within 2 weeks About the Role We're seeking a senior Basel credit risk RWA specialist to lead a PMO-driven remediation programme at a major bank in Riyadh. This role sits at the intersection of technical Basel expertise and hands-on programme management — you'll be driving fixes to the bank's credit risk RWA calculation process end-to-end while aligning multiple internal departments around a shared plan of action. What You'll Do Lead the Project Management Office (PMO) for a Basel credit risk RWA remediation programme, establishing governance, RAID logs, and status reporting to senior stakeholders (ALCO, Risk Committee) Drive technical fixes across credit risk RWA workstreams, including exposure classification, credit risk mitigation (CRM), external credit rating (ECAI) mapping, CCF application, and Q17/SAMA regulatory reconciliation Coordinate and align stakeholders across multiple departments (Business, IT, Risk, Finance, Data teams) who own different parts of the RWA calculation chain — securing buy-in and closing regulatory/audit observations Guide and direct existing junior team members embedded at the client, who hold deep legacy system knowledge Prepare executive communication packs and manage escalations for senior governance forums Support broader Basel/RWA regulatory alignment work (counterparty credit risk, market risk RWA) as needed What We're Looking For 10+ years' experience in Basel credit risk RWA calculation, regulatory reporting, or capital adequacy programmes within banking Hands-on technical knowledge of RWA mechanics: exposure classification, CRM, ECAI ratings, CCF application, asset classification (MSME/PSE/Default) Direct SAMA regulatory reporting experience strongly preferred (Q17 or equivalent) Proven PMO/programme management experience — comfortable running governance structures and driving cross-departmental alignment in complex stakeholder environments Strong stakeholder management skills; able to secure buy-in from multiple departments with competing priorities Based in or able to relocate to Riyadh full-time for the contract duration Prior experience at a Saudi or GCC bank, or with a consultancy delivering Basel/RWA programmes in the region, highly advantageous Contract Details Full-time on-site presence in Riyadh required Accommodation and related logistics covered for the contract duration Fast-track interview process
