Description
The Barman is responsible for preparing a variety of beverages while providing professional, friendly, and efficient service. They must maintain an organised, clean, and inviting bar area, creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests. A focus on delivering excellent customer service, maintaining product quality, and managing the bar environment is essential to this role. Duties • Prepare a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including cocktails, beer, wine, and soft drinks, ensuring high standards of presentation and consistency • Assist in the development of the drink menu, stay updated on new offerings, and communicate updates to guests effectively • Maintain stock levels of garnishes, liquor, ice, and glassware, ensuring the bar is fully stocked and ready for service • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the beverage menu and provide recommendations to guests • Assist with opening and closing tasks, including setting up the bar, assembling equipment, and ensuring all tools are sanitised • Always maintain a professional appearance and behaviour • Ensure full compliance with all health and safety regulations • Foster a friendly and engaging atmosphere for guests while focusing on delivering top-tier service • Comply with all employer guidelines and legal requirements for health and safety, hygiene, fire safety, licensing and employment • Perform any other duties that may be required as instructed by direct superior Work Schedule • 20 hours a week split as required by restaurant hours • Being accessible during the evening and on weekends Experience • Minimum experience of 1 year working as a barman will be considered an asset Knowledge and Skills Required • Strong multitasking abilities and the capacity to perform under pressure, particularly during busy service periods • Excellent communication skills, with proficiency in English; knowledge of additional languages, especially Greek, is an advantage • Knowledge of Greek cuisine and culture is beneficial but not essential • Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure • Must be a team player, self-motivated and organised • Excellent talent to interact with people in a positive and courteous manner
