Role Description The Barista role at Village Tea Shop is a part-time, on-site position based in Ridgewood, NJ. The Barista will prepare and serve bubble teas, organic fruit teas, matcha, tea lattes, smoothies, and other hand-crafted beverages according to shop standards and recipes. Day-to-day tasks include greeting guests, taking orders, handling payments, and providing attentive customer service. The Barista will maintain cleanliness and organization of the service area, follow food safety and sanitation guidelines, and restock supplies as needed. This role also involves working collaboratively with teammates to ensure smooth operations during busy periods. Qualifications • Candidates should possess Barista skills, including basic beverage preparation and familiarity with tea and coffee service. • Candidates should possess strong Customer Service and Interpersonal Skills to create a welcoming experience for guests. • Candidates should possess clear Communication skills to take orders accurately and coordinate with team members. • Candidates should possess Food Preparation skills and an understanding of basic food safety and hygiene practices. • Additional beneficial qualifications include prior experience in a café or restaurant setting, ability to stand for extended periods, flexible scheduling availability (including weekends and evenings), and a commitment to punctuality and teamwork.
