As a Band 7 Dysphagia SLT, you will be at the forefront of assessing, diagnosing, and providing crucial interventions for individuals with swallowing difficulties. What you will do: – Assess and manage a complex dysphagia caseload using advanced assessment tools and therapy approaches. – Liaise effectively with a multidisciplinary team, demonstrating excellent interpersonal and communication skills. – Provide specialist advice and training to other professionals involved in patient care, enhancing their understanding of dysphagia. – Conduct and interpret thorough swallowing assessments including FEES and VFSS at competent levels. – Collaborate on the care of tracheostomy patients within a cardiothoracic setting, ensuring comprehensive management plans. – Maintain high standards of record-keeping in compliance with current professional standards and electronic patient record systems. – Contribute to clinical governance, employ research and audit frameworks, and implement national policies within the service.
