Role overview An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Band 6 Adults Speech & Language Therapist (SALT) to join a well-established service in Carlisle . This full-time locum position offers an immediate start, an ongoing contract, and a competitive hourly rate of £26.00 . You will provide specialist assessment, management, and treatment for adults with communication and swallowing difficulties across a range of settings, including acute and community environments. What you will do • Deliver specialist assessment, management, and treatment for adults with communication and/or swallowing difficulties. • Manage a specialist adult Speech & Language Therapy caseload across acute and community settings. • Undertake comprehensive assessments using advanced investigative and analytical skills to inform diagnosis and intervention. • Develop and implement individualised, evidence-based treatment and management plans using sound clinical reasoning. • Participate in the coordination, development, and delivery of training programmes and information packages for health professionals, voluntary sector staff, and families/carers. • Promote health, independence, and equality, supporting adults to maximise their communication and swallowing potential. • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver integrated, person-centred care. Requirements • HCPC registration as a Speech & Language Therapist is essential . • Minimum two years’ post-qualification experience in a relevant adult specialism. • Experience working with adults presenting with communication and/or swallowing difficulties. • A valid driving licence is desirable to support travel across sites.
