Contract: Ongoing, Full Time/Part Time This is an extraordinary opportunity for Police Custody Nurses to step into a dynamic and impactful environment in Richmond . Working autonomously, you will provide essential healthcare to detainees, ensuring they are fit for detention, interview, transfer, and release. What you will do: Respond to call requests and conduct clinical assessments to determine detainee fitness for detention, interview, transfer, and release. Provide treatment for minor illnesses and injuries, referring more serious conditions when necessary. Perform forensic examinations, document injuries, and collect DNA evidence where required. Assess and manage injuries for police officers and staff. Collect specimens in line with legislation and provide timely written statements. Deliver oral testimony in court or tribunals when required. Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records and contemporaneous notes. Assess alcohol and drug intoxication, and carry out mental health and learning disability assessments. Work collaboratively with the Clinical Lead to improve service delivery and maintain standards. Promote equality, diversity, dignity, and respect in all aspects of care. Utilise the RADAR System effectively. Requirements: Registered Nurse (Adult) or Paramedic with a minimum of 2–3 years’ post-qualification experience. NMC or HCPC registration with venipuncture skills . Valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle. Experience in A&E, ITU, EAU, SAU , Nurse Practitioner roles, or drug and alcohol services.
