International Airport of Heraklion, Crete S.A. is currently looking for a: Aviation Security Screening and Patrolling Manager Responsibilities Leads the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of aviation security (AVSEC) screening and patrolling processes at IAHC. Ensures operational readiness and regulatory compliance while promoting a strong security culture across the Security Staff Accountable for designing and delivering screening operations that meet NCASTP and ICAO requirements, conducting audits, inspections, and surveys to verify compliance with security regulations and SOPs. Drives continuous improvement in screening operations to mitigate risks and enhances the performance of aviation security (SSP) staff. Monitors, manages, and oversees screening operations for passengers, cabin baggage, hold baggage, cargo, mail, and airport staff. Participates in the design, development, and updating of aviation security training programs (AVSEC) in accordance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices (NCASTP, ICAO). Liaises with internal departments and external service providers to ensure screening and patrolling operational objectives are met, coordinating with the Training & Audit Manager on training and audit-related matters. Assists the SEC Department in selecting and managing service providers to ensure that contracts and service levels are met (Hours Reconciliation). Oversees and manages the aviation security budget's financial aspects. Monitors expenses and ensures cost-effective solutions without compromising quality. Identifies screening and patrolling personnel performance gaps and works with the Training & Audit Manager to ensure appropriate remedial training and development plans are implemented. Participates in ORAT activities, drills, and exercises to assess operational readiness. Assesses potential threats and risks and assists in planning and implementing necessary measures. Contributes to developing and implementing SOPs, manuals, and guidelines for security operations. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field Certified Security Manager by HCAA Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in Aviation Security operations At least 3–5 years in a supervisory or managerial role within aviation screening or patrol operations Excellent knowledge of aviation security regulations, screening procedures, international standards, and best practices to ensure compliance and maintain operational integrity Experience in managing large security teams in a 24/7 operational environment Proven experience in ORAT and project management Digital skills, including advanced ECDL knowledge Strong knowledge of ICAO Annex 17, ECAC Doc 30, EU, and Hellenic Civil Aviation regulations Proven instructional capability, with experience in designing, developing, and delivering high-quality training programs. Excellent knowledge of Greek and English both oral and written Additional foreign language skills are a plus Competencies Exceptional presentation and communication skills, with the ability to engage and connect effectively with diverse audiences Organizational skills that ensure accuracy in record-keeping and compliance with AvSec standards Collaborative approach, fostering strong partnerships with security personnel, trainers, and aviation stakeholders Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to influence and guide teams
