Job Description: As an AV and Security Technician III, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of security systems. In addition to performing technical tasks, you will lead a team of technicians, ensuring efficient project execution and maintaining high-quality standards. Your responsibilities may include: 1. Technical Leadership: • Lead and supervise a team of AV/Security technicians, providing guidance, mentorship, and support. • Assign tasks, set priorities, and ensure efficient utilization of resources within the team. • Provide technical expertise and troubleshooting assistance to team members when needed. • Promote a positive and collaborative work environment, fostering teamwork and continuous improvement. 2. Project Coordination: • Collaborate with project managers to plan and execute AV and security system installation projects. • Review project requirements, specifications, and design plans to ensure proper implementation. • Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to schedule installations and resolve any issues or conflicts. • Monitor project progress, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards. 3. Installation and Configuration: • Oversee the installation, configuration, and integration of AV and security system components, including cameras, access control panels, intrusion detection devices, and related equipment. • Ensure compliance with industry standards, best practices, and client requirements during installations. • Conduct quality control checks to verify proper functionality, connectivity, and integration of the systems. • Provide guidance and hands-on assistance to technicians in complex or challenging installation tasks. 4. Maintenance and Troubleshooting: • Supervise routine maintenance tasks on AV and security systems to ensure optimal performance. • Assist technicians in diagnosing and troubleshooting system issues, offering technical expertise and problem-solving guidance. • Monitor system performance, identify potential problems, and proactively address them to minimize downtime. • Collaborate with other departments, vendors, and manufacturers for advanced troubleshooting and resolution of complex issues. 5. Documentation and Reporting: • Ensure accurate documentation of installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities. • Review and approve documentation completed by technicians, such as service reports, equipment inventories, and work orders. • Generate reports on project progress, system performance, and incidents encountered during service calls. • Maintain up-to-date records of technical specifications, diagrams, and system configurations. 6. Training and Development: • Provide training and guidance to technicians, ensuring their professional growth and technical competence. • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices, and share knowledge with the team. • Identify training needs and coordinate training sessions for technicians to enhance their skills and knowledge. Requirements: • High school diploma or equivalent. Additional technical certifications or training in security systems, electronics, or related fields is advantageous. • 2-5 years experience in security system installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting. • Strong leadership and team management skills. • In-depth knowledge of security system components, integration techniques, and industry standards. • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, diagrams, and specifications. • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities. • Effective communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. • This position requires travel to customer job sites up to 40% of the time. Travel may include local and out-of-town assignments, with occasional overnight stays, based on project schedules and customer needs. • Physical fitness and the ability to perform installation tasks that may involve lifting, climbing, and working in various environments.
