Description
AST SpaceMobile is building the first global cellular broadband network in space. The Automation Engineer will lead and create automation infrastructure for the company's software, working with the engineering team to maintain high-quality products throughout their lifecycle while gaining hands-on experience with cloud technologies and complex system testing.
What You'll Do
• Design, develop, and maintain automated tests for backend, UI, and API components to ensure comprehensive test coverage
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and ensure timely delivery of high-quality software
• Work closely with development team members to identify test scenarios, perform manual testing, and automate them effectively
• Troubleshoot and debug automation code to ensure reliable test execution and accurate results
• Continuously improve test coverage, execution efficiency, and reliability through optimization of automation frameworks and processes
• Mentor team members on automation best practices and provide technical support as needed
What You Need
• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (equivalent experience may be considered)
• Minimum 7 years of automation testing experience
• Proven experience automating tests for backend, UI, and API layers using Java, C#, or Python
• Experience with BDD frameworks such as Cucumber
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in Agile environments, preferably within CI/CD pipelines
Nice to Have
• Experience mentoring team members and providing technical guidance on automation best practices
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes
• Experience working with Linux
