Overview Wondermore’s Authors-in-Schools Program Consultant supports the expansion of the Authors-in-Schools program in Boston and surrounding communities with emphasis on schools serving large English Language Learner populations. The consultant works with the Program Director to expand partnerships with schools and support existing collaborations. This is an opportunity for someone committed to literacy and educational equity to contribute to a mission-driven organization with a small, dedicated team. The ideal candidate has a background in education and ESL and is eager to contribute to Wondermore’s mission. Key Responsibilities • Design and implement an outreach strategy to increase the number of schools, districts, and students participating in Wondermore’s author/illustrator visits, with a focus on schools serving ELL students • Develop and maintain relationships with schools, authors, and illustrators • Develop outreach materials for schools • Support and lead author/illustrator visits as needed, ensuring they run smoothly and effectively • Implement program surveys to assess impact and improve program delivery • Assist with other program-related tasks as needed • Report progress to the Executive Director Qualifications • Knowledge and experience in the field of education, literacy, children’s literature, and ESL • Experience developing partnerships and managing programs • Strong organizational skills with experience in project management, documentation, and communication • Excellent writing and communication skills • A strong commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging • Ability to juggle multiple programs, people, resources, and partnerships • Ability to travel to schools in the Boston area Hours Up to 15 hours per week aligned with Boston Public Schools calendar and author visit dates.
