About the Authority Liaison Expert role
The Authority Liaison Expert will lead the registration of existing Barakah site facilities and buildings and issue building permits for new Barakah facilities and buildings in to Abu Dhabi government system (MIPS). This role requires managing consultants, coordinating engineering data collection, overseeing budgets and reporting, ensuring regulatory compliance, overseeing Barakah Land allocation services, and to liase with DMT and Western region Municipality for registrations and permit approvals.
Key Activities, Responsibility & Accountability
Project Planning and Execution.
Develop and implement project plan covering scope, timelines, resources, and milestones to register and receive building permits for Barakah Site facilities and buildings in Abu Dhabi government system.
• Monitor progress and adjust strategies to meet deadlines and objectives to register Barakah site within Authority systems.
• Prepare and deliver regular progress reports, dashboards, and executive summaries
Technical Documentation, oversight and Data Collection.
Organize and manage the collection of necessary engineering data from various internal departments and external stakeholders.
• Documentation Review & Quality Control by pre-validating all application packages for accuracy, completeness, formatting, and alignment with authority standards-reducing back-and-forth delays.
• Ensure architectural, structural, and MEP drawings are accurate, complete, and comply with government standards.
• Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely submission of data to facilitate the registration process
Stakeholder Engagement and Tracking.
Track the status of all permits, NOCs, and authority communications-delivering clear reporting and milestone updates.
• Collaborate effectively with internal teams, consultants, and government representatives.
• Collaborate with Related design and engineering teams to resolve discrepancies or missing data.
• Provide regular progress updates and detailed reports to senior management and key stakeholders.
Act as the primary point of contact with relevant government authorities.
• Facilitate approvals, address issues promptly, and ensure compliance with government protocols and regulations.
• Manage Government and consultants inspections and audits as required.
Responsibilities & Accountabilities (contd.)
People Management –
treamline project approvals and monitor project timelines, deliverables, and milestones to ensure timely completion.
• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of registration processes, laws, and regulatory requirements.
• Identify and implement process improvements and best practices to enhance efficiency.
Consultant Management –
Supervise and coordinate consultants responsible for reviewing, evaluating, and uploading architectural and engineering drawings.
• Ensure that all submitted documentation meets quality and regulatory compliance standards.
• Develop, monitor, and control project budgets, including forecasting and expenditure trackin
Professional Certifications
• PMP or equivalent certification highly preferred
• Familiarity with CAD drawings and document control systems.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Project Management, or related field.
Experience
• 8 years of project management experience, preferably in government or infrastructure projects.
– Experience working with government systems and regulatory bodies in Abu Dhabi or the UAE
Experience working with ADM and DMT government systems
