Description
Role Overview Audio Engineers apply their audio production and signal processing expertise to evaluate and improve AI systems'' handling of real-world audio tasks. You will use technical audio tools to create, edit, and assess audio assets, craft domain-specific prompts, and review model outputs for AI research projects.
Key Responsibilities
• Use professional audio tools and workflows to prepare and edit audio materials used in AI evaluation.
• Develop domain-specific prompts and test scenarios that reflect real-world audio engineering tasks.
• Evaluate language model and AI responses for technical accuracy, relevance, and fidelity to professional practice.
• Work asynchronously with research teams to provide feedback, annotations, and quality assessments.
• Adapt to a variety of project topics and contribute to improving AI performance across audio-related domains.
• Placement into specific projects depends on project availability and opening schedules.
Qualifications
• At least 3+ years of professional experience using one or more of the following tools: Audacity, Ardour, Linux Multi-Media Studio, or other related technical audio tools.
• Ability to work asynchronously with distributed AI research teams and meet project deliverables independently.
Work Terms
• Employment type: Part-time.
• Remote and asynchronous work, perform tasks from any location.
• Flexible hours with no minimum hourly commitment required.
• The program runs year-round, with project opportunities opening periodically across different areas of expertise.
• Placement into projects is dependent on project availability; assignments open periodically.
Compensation
• Up to $125/hr (depending on the project)
Eligibility
• F-1 students who are eligible for CPT or OPT may be eligible to participate. Work with your Designated School Official to confirm eligibility for your specific situation.
• If your school requires CPT to be tied to a course, this program may not satisfy that requirement.
• STEM OPT is not supported.
