Join Our Team! Galveston County Health District is seeking dedicated and highly skilled Attending Paramedics to join the Galveston Area Ambulance Authority (GAAA). In this role, you will provide critical pre-hospital emergency and non-emergency medical care while ensuring patient safety, quality treatment, and compliance with established protocols. Why Join Us? What You’ll Do: • Provide emergency and non-emergency medical care and transport patients safely • Assess patient conditions and make appropriate triage decisions • Administer treatment following standing orders and Medical Director protocols • Communicate patient status and care information to receiving facilities • Operate ambulance safely in compliance with all laws and policies • Maintain accurate, complete, and timely patient care reports (ePCR) • Ensure ambulance, equipment, and supplies are operational and properly maintained • Assist with patient extrication and scene management • Collaborate with law enforcement, fire personnel, and healthcare providers • Deliver high-quality, compassionate patient care at all times What We’re Looking For: • High school diploma or equivalent • Current Texas Paramedic certification/licensure (no unresolved DSHS complaints) • Current AHA CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications • Ability to obtain Medical Director protocol certification within 30 days • Strong knowledge of EMS practices, patient care, and emergency response • Excellent communication and decision-making skills • Valid Texas driver’s license (or ability to obtain) with acceptable driving record • Ability to pass written exam, skills testing, physical exam, and agility test • Must meet immunization, background check, DMV/MVR, and drug screening requirements Equivalent education and experience may be considered Work Environment & Physical Requirements: • Ability to lift and carry patients (up to 250 lbs with assistance) • Work in high-stress, fast-paced, and physically demanding environments • Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, bodily fluids, and emergency scenes • Must maintain physical stamina to perform CPR and emergency procedures Application Deadline: Open Until Filled No phone calls please ADA / EEO / DFWP Our Mission: Protecting and Promoting the One Health of Galveston County Equal Employment Opportunity Statement Galveston County Health District is an Equal Opportunity Employer and values diversity in the workplace.
