UQ’s Institute for Molecular Bioscience (IMB) is the leading biosciences research institute in Australia and the Asia-Pacific. Ranked in the Top 20 globally for life sciences research, IMB pursues a multidisciplinary approach to solving some of the world’s most serious challenges in the fields of health, disease and sustainable solutions for our cities, fuels, and foods. To continue the Institute’s impactful work and in support of its mission, particularly in translational research, they now seek a new Associate Vice-President, Advancement who will oversee the Institute’s fundraising and external engagement activities in partnership with UQ’s Advancement and Community Engagement team. This critical leadership role, reporting to the Director, IMB, will secure major and principal gifts to support established priorities for the Institute. The successful candidate will bring a demonstrable track record in cultivating significant donor relationships and securing 6-7 figure gifts with the ability to liaise effectively with senior executives to influence and drive fundraising strategy. An understanding of and experience in health/research and/or the education sectors will be advantageous. Closing date for applications is 14/08/2026.
