Position Overview
The firm is seeking a highly qualified and motivated Associate Attorney with a minimum of five (5) years of civil and commercial litigation experience. The successful candidate will assume immediate responsibility for a diverse caseload and participate in all phases of litigation, from pre-suit evaluation through trial and appellate proceedings.
Essential Responsibilities
• Case Management: Manage civil and commercial litigation files, including construction disputes, breach of contract actions, real estate litigation, and bankruptcy adversary proceedings.
• Pleadings & Motions: Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal memoranda. Appear in state and federal courts to argue substantive and procedural motions.
• Discovery Practice: Formulate discovery strategies, draft interrogatories and requests for production, conduct document reviews, and take and defend depositions.
• Trial Advocacy: Represent clients in mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
• Client Relations: Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, providing regular status updates and strategic legal counsel.
• Supervision: Oversee and direct the work of assigned paralegals and legal assistants.
Qualifications and Requirements
• Minimum of 5 years of dedicated civil or commercial litigation experience.
• Demonstrated courtroom and trial experience preferred.
• Exceptional legal research, analytical, and writing skills.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and oral advocacy skills.
• Proficient in legal research databases (Westlaw/LexisNexis).
