Job Description
Due to growth in the business, we currently have an exciting opportunity for a talented early-career professional to join our Transport Modelling & Analytics capability in an Associate or Senior Associate role at the university graduate level or with up to approximately 4 years of experience in the industry.
Overall key responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
• Strategic transport modelling and demand forecasting
• Data analysis and analytics
• Land use and integrated transport planning
• Transport model reviews
• Communication of outcomes (written and verbal) to key stakeholders.
The day-to-day activities in this role (dependent on experience and business requirements) include:
• Working as part of a national team advising public purpose clients on high profile transport infrastructure, policy, planning and precinct projects.
• Undertaking hands-on technical activities to support transport modelling and forecasting for the planning and evaluation of transport infrastructure projects.
• Contributing towards the development and refinement of transport and freight models to forecast demand and assess the potential impact and benefits of various transport policies and infrastructure investments. This also includes further development of Scyne’s internal modelling tools.
• Conducting detailed data analytics and data visualisation to support strategic decision-making, planning policies, option analysis and communication of model inputs and outputs. This type of analysis is often undertaken using software tools such as Python programming, Alteryx, Tableau, PowerBI, cloud computing services and GIS/geospatial tools - experience using one or multiple of these tools is highly regarded.
• Preparing high-quality, easily understandable project reports, tender submissions, presentations and documentation to support project deliverables and objectives.
• Planning, organising and delivering tasks across multiple projects.
• Contributing to a range of project workstreams as part of a team ensuring scope, quality and program is maintained.
• Potential to gain broader skills and experience in the areas of: data and artificial intelligence (AI) across a range of industry sectors, business case development and writing, and the economic analysis of transport and infrastructure projects.
This is an exceptional opportunity to build upon your existing skills, within a progressive, supportive and inclusive environment. In this role you will be involved in nationally significant projects, delivering value and solutions, not just numbers!
