Position Summary As a member of the Investments team, the Associate will play an active role in evaluating investment opportunities, executing transactions, managing portfolio investments, and supporting relationships with market participants across climate-aligned sectors. Investments primarily include infrastructure and asset-backed debt transactions, as well as select equity investments.
Key Responsibilities
Investment Origination & Structuring
Research market trends, financing opportunities, and emerging sectors within clean energy and sustainable infrastructure.
Support investment origination, screening, underwriting, and structuring activities.
Develop financial models, term sheets, investment memoranda, and investment committee presentations.
Analyze transactions and assess investment risks and opportunities.
Transaction Execution
Support due diligence, underwriting, and transaction execution activities.
Prepare materials for internal approval processes and investment committee reviews.
Coordinate with legal counsel, consultants, technical advisors, and transaction counterparties.
Support transaction negotiations, documentation review, and closings.
Portfolio Management
Support portfolio monitoring, reporting, and performance analysis.
Prepare quarterly and annual investment reviews.
Assist with portfolio amendments, waivers, consents, and compliance activities.
Partner with Risk, Legal, Operations, and Finance teams to support ongoing portfolio management.
Strategy & Business Development
Support relationship management with sponsors, borrowers, developers, co-investors, and capital providers.
Contribute to the development of innovative financing solutions that advance CGC's mission.
Collaborate across teams to support strategic initiatives and process improvements.
Mentor Analysts and support team development efforts.
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and directly related experience.
