Description
The Associate Director Commercial Finance will serve as the primary finance partner to MoonLake's Commercial organisation, supporting strategic decision-making and commercial launch readiness. The role will lead revenue forecasting, gross-to-net (GTN) planning, commercial analytics, and financial support for key commercial investments, while partnering closely with Commercial, Market Access, Technical Operations, Accounting, and FP&A teams. This position requires a highly analytical finance leader with deep commercial finance expertise, strong modelling capabilities, and hands-on experience navigating pharmaceutical revenue dynamics in a fast-growing environment. Major Accountabilities Commercial business partnering: Serve as the lead finance partner to Commercial leadership across Sales, Marketing, Market Access, and other commercial functions, providing financial guidance to support strategic and operational decision-making. Commercial launch finance: Lead finance activities supporting commercial launch preparation, ensuring robust planning, financial readiness, and alignment across cross-functional stakeholders. Revenue forecasting and planning: Own the commercial revenue forecast, partnering with Commercial teams during budget, forecast, and long-range planning processes. Challenge assumptions constructively through data-driven analysis and provide recommendations to improve forecast quality. Gross-to-net forecasting and revenue management: Own the GTN forecasting process, including model maintenance, assumption development, net revenue analysis, and collaboration with Market Access, Commercial, Technical Accounting, and external GTN partners to ensure accurate forecasting and accrual management. Supply and demand finance support: Partner with Technical Operations to incorporate demand forecasts, inventory assumptions, and cost of goods sold (COGS) considerations into financial planning and forecasting activities. Integrated financial planning: Collaborate with the broader FP&A team to ensure commercial forecasts, business scenarios, and strategic assumptions are accurately reflected in the overall corporate financial plan. Commercial analytics and reporting: Develop and maintain commercial dashboards, KPIs, reporting tools, and performance analyses that transform data into actionable business insights for leadership. Decision support and financial analysis: Build financial models and scenario analyses to evaluate commercial opportunities, investments, risks, and performance drivers, supporting informed decision-making across the organisation. Job Requirements Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline. MBA, CFA, CPA, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent professional qualification is desirable. Additional training in financial modelling, commercial finance, forecasting, or data analytics is advantageous. Experience: 6 to 10 years of finance experience with a strong focus on Commercial Finance and/or FP&A within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life sciences industry. Hands-on experience with pharmaceutical revenue forecasting and commercial planning. Strong understanding of pharmaceutical revenue mechanics, including gross-to-net calculations, revenue recognition, rebates, discounts, and channel economics. Experience partnering directly with Commercial, Market Access, and cross-functional leadership teams. Familiarity with US pharmaceutical pricing, specialty distribution networks, and government pricing programmes is highly desirable. Commercial launch experience within a pharmaceutical or biotechnology organisation. Experience building forecasting models, planning processes, and reporting capabilities in a high-growth or rapidly evolving environment.
