Description
As an Assistant LPSQ Superintendent at BSM, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with international safety, quality, and environmental standards across assigned vessels. Acting as a key link between ship and shore, you will monitor vessel performance, manage audits, investigate incidents, and drive continuous improvement to uphold the highest standards of safety and regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities Monitor changes in legislation and update LPSQ rules, standards, and procedures to maintain compliance. Enforce accurate implementation of safety, quality, and environmental policies on assigned vessels. Identify and analyze risks in LPSQ processes and propose preventive measures. Conduct vessel visits, investigations, and audits under ISM and other regulatory codes; follow up on corrective actions. Prepare and submit reports on LPSQ issues and audit results to clients and management. Coordinate with external authorities and auditors to support effective execution of audits. Communicate with maritime authorities and industry bodies to maintain strong relationships. Provide guidance and training to ship staff during visits; support performance appraisals and identify development needs. Participate in budget planning and execution. Qualifications & Experience B.Sc. in Marine or Naval Engineering, or Master/ Chief Engineer's Certificate. Minimum 3 years sailing experience as Master/Chief Officer or Chief Engineer, or 3 years working in a HSEQ / LPSQ function Skills & Competencies Strong knowledge of quality, safety, and environmental standards and related legislation. Experience in customer management and maritime market practices. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Proven people management and leadership abilities. Why You Should Join Us!
