ABOUT THE ROLE We are looking for an organised, proactive, and solutions-focused Assistant Distribution Manager to join our Supply Chain team. Supporting the movement of products across the Bamford Collection , you will play a key role in ensuring stock is delivered accurately, efficiently, and on time. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong logistics experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and thrives on building effective relationships across multiple teams. Working closely with the Logistics Manager, you will help lead and develop a team of Logistics Coordinators, supporting day-to-day operations while driving service excellence, process improvements, and operational efficiencies. You will act as a key point of contact for distribution-related activities, ensuring a seamless experience for both internal stakeholders and external partners. RESPONSIBILITIES Lead, coach, and support the Logistics Coordinators, fostering a collaborative, high-performing team culture. Assist in delivering logistics projects and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, service levels, and cost-effectiveness. Work cross-functionally with internal departments to improve processes and strengthen operational performance. Support stores and customers with order status updates, transport enquiries, product information, and issue resolution. Deliver exceptional customer service, responding promptly and professionally to all enquiries. Provide advice and guidance to internal stakeholders on transportation, inventory management, and order fulfilment activities. Support escalation processes relating to supply and distribution challenges, ensuring timely resolution. Oversee distribution activities, including order processing, picking, packing, and shipping, ensuring accuracy and on-time delivery. Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers, freight forwarders, and third-party logistics providers. Monitor shipments throughout transit, proactively communicating updates and managing any delivery exceptions. Ensure all shipping documentation and records are accurate, compliant, and maintained to a high standard. Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve overall logistics performance. SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS Previous experience leading or supervising a team within a logistics, distribution, supply chain, or operational environment. Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels. Experience working within a KPI-driven environment, with a focus on performance, accuracy, and continuous improvement. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and confidence analysing data to support decision-making.
