Position Overview Vermont Construction Company is seeking an experienced Commercial Estimator / Salesperson to join our growing team. This position is primarily focused on estimating commercial drywall, siding, and framing projects while also helping build and maintain client relationships. The ideal candidate has experience reviewing plans and specifications, preparing detailed takeoffs and estimates, building scopes of work, and communicating directly with contractors throughout the bidding process. That said we are willing to train the right person who is ready to make the jump from a field position. Responsibilities • Help prepare detailed estimates, takeoffs, budgets, and proposals for commercial drywall, siding, and framing projects. • Review plans, specifications, and bid documents • Perform quantity takeoffs for related scopes • Coordinate with project managers and field teams to ensure accurate project handoff • Build and maintain relationships with general contractors and commercial clients • Attend walkthroughs, pre-bid meetings, and site visits as needed • Track bid activity, project opportunities, and client communication • Identify and pursue new commercial construction opportunities Qualifications • Commercial construction experience required • Ability to read commercial construction plans and specifications • Understanding of drywall assemblies, cladding assemblies, framing systems, and commercial construction practices • Experience with takeoff and estimating software preferred • Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills • Existing relationships with general contractors preferred • Self-motivated and able to manage multiple bids and deadlines independently Compensation & Benefits • Salary depending on experience • Opportunities for professional growth and advancement • Supportive and collaborative team environment • Established reputation that helps open doors with clients If you have experience estimating commercial projects and are looking to grow with a respected Vermont construction company, we’d like to hear from you.
