Practice Assistant Accountant – Join a Leading Accountancy Firm in Bradford
Are you an experienced Practice Assistant Accountant looking to take ownership of your work and play a key role within a forward-thinking accountancy firm?
We’re partnering with a highly regarded and well-established Accountancy Practice in the Bradford area that is continuing to grow and invest in its people. As part of this growth, they are looking to recruit a confident and capable Practice Assistant Accountant to manage a portfolio of clients, taking full responsibility for bookkeeping and supporting the delivery of high-quality management accounts.
The Role
This is a hands-on, client-facing position where you will be trusted to manage your own workload and build strong relationships with a varied client base across multiple sectors.
Key responsibilities include:
• Managing end-to-end bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients
• Preparing accurate and timely monthly and quarterly management accounts
• Handling VAT returns and ensuring compliance with HMRC requirements
• Reconciling bank accounts and maintaining clean financial records
• Supporting clients with queries and providing practical financial insights
• Liaising with senior accountants to support year-end processes
About You
To succeed in this role, you’ll bring solid experience from within an accountancy practice and enjoy working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
We’re looking for someone who:
• Has proven experience in a Practice Assistant Accountant or similar role
• Is confident managing bookkeeping and preparing management accounts independently
• Is proficient with accounting software such as Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks
• Has excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
• Communicates clearly and builds rapport with clients easily
• Is AAT qualified or studying (ACCA/ACA study support may be available)
