Also, there is a 401(k) with an enhanced contribution and matching program. Rate of pay for a Assembly Process Technician starts at $29.87 per hour and progresses to $30.87 an hour. Plus, night premium is another $.50 for second and third shifts. Most positions will start either on 2nd or 3rd (Monday through Friday) and the hours are 2:45 pm. to 11:15 p.m. or 10:45 p.m. to 7:15 a.m. The Assembly Process Technician enhances production operations by supporting and ensuring continuous improvement of Assembly machines and systems. This includes, but is not limited to, systems performance in areas such as uptime, reliability, and quality. This position reports to the Production Supervisor and works with the engineers. This position is responsible for contributing to a safe work place and minimizing negative environmental impacts by complying with the EHS policies, procedures, and work instructions outlined in the EHSMS Training Assessment for this position. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Provides technical knowledge and support existing assembly systems. This technical knowledge includes but is not limited to vision, laser, gauging, reaction plans, and troubleshooting on all current and future processes. • Manages Tooling for the Assembly areas. • Keeps up with all of the daily functions of the process in order to protect the customer against non-conforming products and advancing the cost-effective improvement of the process. • Assists engineering in maintaining of processes and machines, including trial runs and PPAPs. • Assists engineering in the improvement and stream lining of existing processes and machines. • Tracks and monitors current processes and systems for effectiveness and throughput and work with operators, engineering and maintenance to improve overall uptime and quality by aggressively attacking issues that contribute to downtime and scrap. • Supports the continuous training of shop floor personnel in newly established OJT standard procedures for the purpose of obtaining operating efficiencies and cost reductions. • Supports all Assembly department 5S and other Lean initiatives. PPE may be required in the areas assigned. • On a frequent basis must be able to stoop, or bend (up to one-half of the work day). • On a frequent basis must be able to crouch downward and forward by bending legs and spine. • On a frequent basis must be able to reach by extending hands and arms as well as handle by seizing, holding, grasping, turning or working with hands and fingers. • Depth perception, or three-dimensional vision, is also needed on a frequent basis. • Necessary on an occasional basis (up to one-third of the work period) is the ability to kneel by bending the legs at the knees to come to rest on the knee or knees. • Near acuity (clarity of vision at 20” or less) is needed on an occasional basis as well. • Able and willing to work around fuel mixtures, moving parts, and electrical power. • Most aspects are performed inside the plant facility with noise exposure. PPE may be required in the areas assigned. APTITUDES The following aptitudes are needed in at least a medium degree, ranging from slightly below to slightly above average as compared to the normal population: • Intelligence/general learning ability specifically oriented toward problem solving and troubleshooting. • Form perception/ability to perceive pertinent detail in objects. • Finger dexterity/ability to move fingers and manipulate small objects rapidly or accurately. • Manual dexterity/ability to move the hands easily and skillfully in placing and turning motions.
