Description The Raritan Bay Area YMCA is seeking a safety-minded, community-driven, full-time Aquatics Coordinator . $500 SIGN-ON BONUS AVAILABLE ! Terms and conditions apply. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic and growing YMCA located just five miles west of New York City in the waterfront city of Perth Amboy. Since 1912, the Raritan Bay Area YMCA has proudly served the evolving needs of our community. Today, we support more than 6,000 members in the Raritan Bay area through programs and initiatives focused on Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility. Working under the direction of the Aquatics Director, the Aquatics Coordinator will help plan, develop, manage, and execute a diversified aquatics program. This role is essential to maintaining high safety standards, coordinating swimming lessons (including our 2nd Grade Swim program), maintaining aquatics facilities, and hosting community aquatic events. Essential Functions • Safety Leadership: Prioritize and safeguard the lives of all members, guests, and pool participants. • Staff Supervision: Supervise, train, and support lifeguards, swim instructors, seasonal employees, and volunteers to ensure successful pool operations. • Community Relations: Provide exceptional customer service to establish and maintain positive relationships with members, staff, visitors, and YMCA constituents. • Department Support: Coordinate swim lessons, maintain aquatic facilities, and perform other departmental duties as needed. Hours & Schedule • Status: Full-time (37.5 hours per week). • Flexibility: Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, and weekends. Requirements • Experience: Proven background in aquatics management, lifeguarding, swim instruction, and with coordinating swim meets. • Safety Protocols: Strong familiarity with and direct application of emergency management guidelines. • Preferences: Prior experience in swim instruction is highly preferred. • Certifications: Current, valid certifications in Lifeguarding, First Aid, and CPR.
