AST SpaceMobile is building the first and only global cellular broadband network in space to operate directly with standard, unmodified mobile devices based on our extensive IP and patent portfolio and designed for both commercial and government applications. Our engineers and space scientists are on a mission to eliminate the connectivity gaps faced by today’s five billion mobile subscribers and finally bring broadband to the billions who remain unconnected. Position Overview
The Attitude and Orbit Control System team is responsible for maintaining on-orbit operational control of all spacecraft in the AST fleet. Our team is seeking Assembly, Integration, and Test (AIT) Support Personnel to perform hardware operations test evaluation for the AOCS team.
AOCS AIT Support Personnel will monitor and track AIT activities performed or completed typically during local Spanish work hours. Support Personnel will closely evaluate test documents, propose improvements to test processes, evaluate data for discrepancies or performance concerns, track long-term trends in testing, and trace components through their AST lifecycle. AIT Support Personnel will communicate and coordinate with US personnel as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate with US counterparts to ensure complete coverage during test campaigns
Monitor component performance and ensure continuity through test phases
Track AIT documentation for completeness and accuracy
Evaluate AIT test anomalies for potential safety and performance impacts
Communicate with AIT staff working with flight hardware to flag hardware performance nonconformances
Work with AOCS AIT US staff to disposition hardware issues
Document hardware performance tests, catalog test outputs, and sign off for compliance
Propose improvements or changes to test plans based on observed outputs
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or a related field
Experience:
None required
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with attitude control system hardware
Experience in spacecraft AIT activities
Ability to analyze telemetry outputs and evaluate component operations relative to requirements
Ability to collate data across tests to holistically evaluate component performance
Document management experience
Ability to track individual pieces of hardware through a spectrum of activities and effectively correlate output data
Soft Skills:
Ability to collaborate with remote teams
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in documentation and deliverables
Ability to manage schedule priorities for hardware in various phases of test
