ABOUT MSF Doctors without Borders (MSF) is an international, independent, humanitarian medical organisation committed to two objectives: providing medical assistance to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, healthcare exclusion, natural and man-made disasters; and speaking out about the plight of the populations assisted. Key responsibilities: • Provide emergency resuscitation and required urgent medical stabilisation of critical patients. • Assess patients fitness to undertake an operation before the surgery takes place. • initiate anaesthesia, providing safe pre-operative, during and post-operative care using anaesthetics and pain management. • work in a team of other health professionals to ensure patient wellbeing. • perform administrative tasks in areas which relate to the care of patients, including summaries of patient treatment and the writing of discharge letters • attend multidisciplinary team meetings both on and off-site • participate in an agreed on-call rota and take on an equal share in providing emergency cover Requirements: • Medical Doctor with Diploma in Anaesthesia or Anaesthetisiology specialisation. • Valid Registration with HPCSA • Over 6 months of Anastehtsia experience in a busy hospital. • Good communication skills. • Team-player • Flexible to work in insecure context.
