New York-based travel company is seeking a highly adaptable and versatile analytics engineer who thrives on taking up multiple roles and responsibilities within the realm of analytics engineering. As an Analytics Engineer, you will play a crucial role in our organization, taking charge of various aspects such as data design, data architecture, data governance, reporting, and more. You will partner with our business analyst and data engineer to help develop our solutions to our data needs throughout the organization. Reporting to the Director of Business Applications. PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES Data modeling & Transformation •    Build and maintain dbt models across staging, intermediate, and mart layers following Kimball dimensional modeling best practices, and a governed semantic / metrics layer so core KPIs are defined once and are AI- and agent-ready •    Write and review SQL transformations to convert raw source data into clean, analytics-ready datasets that serve as a trusted source of truth •    Implement dbt tests, model documentation, and source freshness checks to ensure data quality and build confidence across the organization •    Collaborate with the data engineer on pipeline design, source data contracts, and overall data architecture decisions Reporting & Analytics •    Design and publish Power BI reports and dashboards that empower stakeholders across the business to access and interpret data with confidence •    Define and govern metric definitions to ensure consistent, reliable reporting across departments •    Partner closely with our business analyst to understand reporting needs and translate them into scalable, reusable solutions •    Identify opportunities to consolidate legacy reports and improve self-service analytics capabilities •    Excited to work alongside AI tools - not just using them, but improving their outputs by rigorously reviewing, refining, and iterating on AI-generated code and analyses  Governance & Collaboration •    Contribute to data governance practices including access review, data lineage, and documentation standards •    Serve as a bridge between the data infrastructure and the business, communicating technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders •    Maintain and improve CI/CD workflows for dbt model deployments QUALIFICATIONS •    Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.  •    Minimum 5+ years in analytics or data related roles. •    Proven experience as analytics engineer or in a similar role, demonstrating expertise in data design, data architecture, and reporting •    Experience with any modern warehouse; Snowflake preferred •    Comfortable working with PowerBI or comparable dashboarding tool •    Proficiency in SQL and data querying languages. Experience with programming languages like Python is desirable •    Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment •    Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
