The Opportunity: Investment Analyst or Associate We are looking for a driven Investment Analyst or Associate to support both deal sourcing and execution across Fluent’s growing portfolio of vertical market software businesses. You will be hands-on in live transactions and actively own and build the pipeline through research, outreach, and early-stage evaluation. This role is ideal for someone coming from Investment Banking, Private Equity, Consulting, or Corporate Development who wants broader ownership, responsibility, and long-term exposure to software investing. What You Will Own Deal Sourcing & Pipeline Management Own and actively manage the acquisition pipeline Research vertical software markets and identify attractive acquisition targets Conduct outbound outreach to founders and intermediaries Perform early-stage screening, financial reviews, and business assessments Maintain CRM data, pipeline tracking, and sourcing metrics Deal Execution & Due Diligence Support end-to-end transaction execution from LOI through close Build and review financial models, valuation analyses (DCF, comps, scenarios) Conduct financial, commercial, and operational due diligence Analyze historical performance, forecasts, SaaS KPIs, and customer metrics Coordinate with cross-functional teams (finance, legal, operations, technology) Prepare investment memos and materials for senior leadership Strategic & Analytical Support Track portfolio and pipeline KPIs, timelines, and risks Conduct market, industry, and competitive research Identify trends, growth opportunities, and deal risks Contribute to process improvements and best practices across the M&A function Who You Are Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field 2–3 years of experience in Investment Banking, Private Equity, Consulting, or Corporate Development Strong financial analysis, modeling, and valuation skills Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint Comfortable owning workstreams independently in a fast-paced environment Strong written and verbal communication skills Curious, proactive, and commercially minded Nice-to-Haves Experience with SaaS or vertical market software businesses Exposure to full transaction lifecycles Interest in long-term career growth in M&A or corporate development 💥 Who You Are High Autonomy, High Impact: Real ownership from Day 1 Serious Career Growth: Deep exposure to sourcing, deal execution, and scaling software companies Learning-Driven Culture: Ongoing mentorship and development Entrepreneurial Energy: No two days look the same Competitive Offer: Compensation, health, dental, vision, PTO, and more Team-First Mindset: Collaborative culture with global connections Join Us Help us scale incredible software companies — without losing their entrepreneurial edge.
