If so, we want to hear from you!  This is an entry-level analyst position focused on research on the corporate sector that will likely suit a recent graduate at the start of their career. About InfluenceMap InfluenceMap is a globally recognized nonprofit think tank driving change on climate and sustainability. We produce cutting-edge, objective research on how businesses and finance impact the climate crisis, working collaboratively across the corporate, finance, public, civil society, and media sectors. InfluenceMap is best known for its LobbyMap platform, which analyzes corporate advocacy and policy engagement activities related to climate change and nature. Our work has been featured in the media globally , used by hundreds of investors, and informed numerous climate campaigns. Other workstreams include the FinanceMap platform, which assesses the climate credentials of the financial sector, and the Carbon Majors platform, which tracks emissions from the world’s largest polluters. With offices in London, New York, Tokyo, Seoul, Sao Paulo, and Brussels, we are a team of 75 professionals shaping the climate and nature agendas worldwide. About the Role We are seeking a Japan-based Analyst to research companies and industry associations using our LobbyMap methodology. LobbyMap assesses how the corporate sector advocates on and engages with government policy to address the climate crisis. You will assess companies on climate change and biodiversity loss. You will work primarily on LobbyMap, the world's leading platform for measuring corporate climate policy engagement. By mastering our methodology and processes, you will build genuine expertise in corporate climate policy engagement in Japan and elsewhere. Over time, you will engage with our key stakeholders in the region, including investors, civil society groups, the media, and companies. Your work will help shape the trajectory of the climate and nature agendas. Full training in our research methods and in how to communicate our results will be provided. Once you have demonstrated your ability in this area, you may develop expertise in other areas, such as specific sectors, policy areas, or geographic regions, in line with the organization's project needs.  Our approach is highly data-driven and demands accuracy, consistency, and close attention to detail. InfluenceMap's work is widely used by the finance sector, the media, and other stakeholders. For that reason, we place great importance on communicating our content effectively, both written and verbal.
