Job Title – Air Project Executive
Department/Sector – Travel
Job Location – Chester
Salary and benefit – £ 22,500
Our client is recruiting an Air Project Executive working in the IT Projects Team you will assist the organisation in meeting its strategic goals through the quality provision on IT services.
In the role you will assist in the day to day usability of key applications and their business processes and enhancements and provide 2nd line applications support to the IT Helpdesk.
They need you to assist the project team with testing and support of any relevant developments that are delivered through IT specializing in Air technology.
Responsibilities:
• Provide proactive input and support of key applications
• Provide high quality 2nd level applications support to the IT Helpdesk for key applications.
• Be recognised as a subject matter expert on applications being supported and be knowledgeable of competitor’s products.
• Provide support and be recognised as a subject matter expert on GDS systems usage and external air booking technology.
• Work closely with the Air Technology Manager & Project Manager on new projects
• Forming and completing testing plans and consulting on operational/commercial knowledge, systems knowledge and operational processes and procedures.
• Investigate recurrent problem areas and new issues, and implement a plan to mitigate recurring problems.
• Ensure any identified business issues and risks are identified and assist where necessary with the implementation of a suitable resolution
• Work with the IT Projects team to ensure processes and systems are correctly documented
Skills required:
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the travel industry.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience using native GDS technology for bookings and fulfillment (preferably Galileo) Worldspan or Amadeus.
• High level knowledge and understanding of travel oriented applications including their use and potential to an organisation.
• High level knowledge and understanding of the end to end booking & fulfillment processes including, airlines, airfares, rules and restrictions, APIS, OSI/SSR messaging, GDS Ticketing and fulfillment experience an advantage.
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills using a structured and methodical approach to problem solving.
• Ability to take ownership of an issue, carry out investigation or analysis and work with the necessary resources to resolve issues.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and oral) with ability to develop relationships at all levels and ensure the customer is kept informed at all stages of issue resolution.
